DSC03540

I am delighted to be headteacher of St. Mary’s CE (VA) Primary School. We are a successful school thanks to the collaboration between children, staff, parents, governors, partners and church who work together to serve a diverse multicultural community.

Founded in hope St. Mary’s CE (VA) Primary School is a place where all can find their voice, grow in wisdom, and live well in community and service.

Our Vision

Our School

Leaders at St. Mary’s School have a clear vision that has three key branches. The three branches of our vision grow from the core value of HOPE. We believe that hope gives us optimism for a better future. No matter where you are on your journey that through the grace of God, we have the hope of a new and better start.

Parents

At St Mary’s C.E. (VA) Primary School, we believe that education flourishes when families and the school work hand in hand. Together, we help each child find their voice, grow in wisdom, and flourish in service to others – guiding them to not only succeed academically but also to become caring, confident individuals. We’re honoured to walk this journey with you and your family.

You Said...... We Did......

  • A parent survey in June 2025 said that both children and parents would like school to offer more school trips and activities.

In order for this to happen, we evaluated our school offer. We were currently attending the Church and Cathedral regularly as part of our Collective Worship and Religion and Worldviews, we also had trips to the local Museums and a whole school visit to the pantomime at Christmas. In order to offer more school visits teachers have evaluated our curriculum and incorporated one topic school trip per year and one cultural visit such as, The Yorkshire Wildlife Park, The Deep, Tough Mudder or Yorkshire Day. To support parents with the payment school subsidies the transport from fundraising as much as possible.
